Event Description

THE ASSOCIATION
The association was established in 1891 and incorporated by an act of Congress in 1903. The Constituent Services of the Association include the
Medical Departments of the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Public Health Service, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. It is the Society of the Federal Health Agencies, and as such contributes to the improvement of all phases of the federal health services.

THE 115TH ANNUAL MEETING

The 115th Annual Meeting will focus on protecting the nation. Session topics include public health issues and initiatives among the federal health agencies,
as well as chemical, biological, and radiation surveillance. As in past years, educational value and maximum awarding of continuing education credits have received
primary emphasis in the planning of the 115th Annual Meeting. The agenda has been developed to emphasize federal medicine and will take advantage of
the unique forum offered by the AMSUS Annual Meeting and its attendees.

OBJECTIVES

Through educational sessions, panel discussions, scientifi c papers, poster presentations, scientifi c and technical exhibits, and networking, participants
will be able to:

1. Identify new technology-based strategies for disease management, health promotion, and preventive/outreach care.
2. Utilize health information to identify strategies that enhance patient access to care and improve patient care quality and safety.
3. Identify new healthcare support and administrative tools, techniques, and technology that enhance care delivery.

OUTCOME

The anticipated long-term benefi ts of this program include:
1. Designing and developing innovative care delivery models that are patient centered and evidenced based that have implications for healthcare systems on a national and international level.
2. Strengthening collaborative initiatives between federal healthcare systems, federal agencies, and private sector healthcare systems to enhance the
quality of care for military personnel, veterans, and the general public.
3. Recognizing changes in the healthcare environment that support the medical management of patients, populations, and consumers.
