As reported in Trading Markets.Com ... Vodafone, the United Kingdom based provider of digital wireless voice and data services with over 300 million customers in 30 countries, has announced plans to establish a healthcare unit to develop mobile healthcare solutions.

The company said that its technology will provide better service and quality in both mature and emerging markets. It said its solutions will aim to meet the need for a re-evaluation of healthcare services delivery. The unit will have a team of around ten people and start operations at the beginning of 2010.

Vittorio Colao, chief executive at Vodafone, said: "The new mobile health unit will focus solely on mobile healthcare solutions and will work with other organizations including pharmaceutical companies and government organizations, which can help us fully understand the need of healthcare professionals."...
