I am sure you are following the guidelines for use of EMRs in the US. What do you think of the fact that there is no mention of the role of families in the provision of medical care? We are missing the essence of medical interactions if we leave out their role in early intervention and monitoring of chronic disease. Since my company has designed and operated an EMR system for years that allows that involvement, I am surprised to see it is not an integral part of theguidelines for meaningful use
