Dr. Eric Noji is a physician with over 25 years of experience working in the fields of global health, disaster relief and reconstruction, and emergency preparedness. He has served as Senior Technical Advisor, Team Leader, Project Manager, and consultant on numerous occasions to solve a wide variety of public health problems for government agencies, NGOs, and international organizations such as USAID, WHO, UNICEF, and the World Bank. A prolific writer, Dr. Noji is the author or co-author of over 250 scientific articles and publications on disaster medicine, applications of epidemiology in mass emergencies, and the public health response to natural disasters, terrorism, and forced migration. In 2005, he was elected to the prestigious Institute of Medicine of the National Academies of Science for pioneering work in establishing much of the scientific basis for the public health response to natural disasters, refugee crises, technological emergencies and the development of medical biodefense countermeasures. Eric Noji is an adviser or board member of several major corporations, nonprofit organizations, and government advisory councils and commissions. On the evening of 24 September 2006, his webcast on disaster management was seen by over 1.5 million viewers, still the largest audience in history for a single academic lecture. In 2006-2007, he was Visiting Professor at the University of Geneva in Switzerland and the Free University of Brussels in Belgium, and from 1999 to 2008 served as President of the Society of Alumni of the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene & Public Health. Dr. Noji continues to regularly advise senior government officials, international organizations, foundations, NGO's and corporations on humanitarian trends, disasters of the future and enterprise crisis management strategy.
