It was 20 years ago today....

Yes indeed. I remember it well. 22 November 1989 (10:15 AM). My first of six Congressional testimonies. Waxing poetic on the sorry state of Federal preparedness and response to disasters (this was just after both the catastrophic earthquakes in Armenia and San Francisco (Loma Prieta or "World Series" quake).
