MedTech I.Q.

The Cutting Edge of Medical Technology Content, Community & Collaboration

Colleagues,

As predicted in MedTechIQ last January, 9 Web sites IT pros should master in 2009, Twitter has taken off in a big way, and has been much in the news as of late. In January of last year, Twitter revolved around the tech world -- the most-followed user on Jan. 18, 2008 was Twitteriffic, with 6,930 followers.

Today, the most-followed user, Ashton Kutcher, just passed 1 million followers ... and, among today's top 10 Twitter sites are now President Barack Obama's, CNN and other major news organizations, and major entertainment sites of Shaquille O'Neil, Britney Spears, Jimmy Fallon, and John Mayer.

A good way to stick your toe into the Twitter pond, is to follow MedTechIQ on Twitter. Check the left hand column of the MedTechIQ homepage, go about half way down, you'll see the MedTechIQ Twitter widget. Just click "follow", set-up an account if necessary, and you are now "Twittering". I mainly "Tweet" about funding and policy issues related to medical technology research and commercialization. I am still trying to decide what I think about Twitter, not totally sold on it, but see some relevance. Let me know what you think?

Next Week... DIGG and StumleUpon!

ENJOY!
