CC - Bob Leitch suggested that I jump onto your Blog...I'm quite new at this Blog stuff but a fairly quick learner. Would it be possible to establish a group that focuses exclusively on devices/applications aimed at combat casualty care and out-of-hospital emergency medical care? That's the world in which I focus.

Hello Conrad, I greatly appreciate your kind offer to help me explore the options with our Massive Wound Coagulating Spray. We developed this technology during the start of the Iraq war but the project lost focus after Mr. Rumsfield left office and we refocused on our energies on microcatheter coating projects. I would like to explore this technology with experts in the field and possibly sell or license this technology. Please visit http://www.hydromer.com/massivebleed/massivewoundspray.pdf

Best regards,
Martin

CC, turns out to be tough unless we could possibly do tomorrow, & I know that's short notice. Thurs & Fri I'm at the IOM, next week is IMSH, & the following is MMVR. then I can breathe.

Is tomorrow too short a notice?

Happy & Prosperous New year to You, CC!

I will definately follow up after the New Year. Interesting that you were at TATRC. The former CO there is a John Parker MD (Major Gen USA Retired) and we have known each other for 15 years.

Also have a current interop project with TATRC sharing federal health records bidirectionally with Walter Reed and Conemaugh Valley Health System in Johnstown PA.

I wound up in Austin, Texas when we started VidiMedix (interactive telemedicine company). We interestingly enough provided support for all of Saudi military hospitals.

With all of this crossover, I bet we have met before.

Happy New Year,

Skip

Great, info. Thank you. Regarding Oral rehydration therapy (ORT), which is a low cost solution to averting dehydration and hospitalization, we are supporting efforts to avert dehydration in our troops abroad, in the USA, and for those suffering from cholera now in Zimbabwe. Earlier this year, we worked with Direct Relief International to assist in Myanmar and last month provided an ORT training course in China, with co-directors Dr. Julius Goepp and Dr. Mei Sun (Shengjing Hospital) along with Dr.Tim Shi of GlobalMD, and China Medical University. Dr. Shi is seeking support to set up an ORT Center of Excellence. He can be reached at tim@globalmd.org.

Hi CC,

Just came back from the Health 2.0 conference. Very exciting conference which was attended by over 1000 people with representation from fortune 500 companies, pharma, biotech, VC firms, and startups. Some large companies are starting to adopt the methodologies/technologies of health 2.0 but there is still a long way to go. It’s very clear that an ever increasing number of people are turning to the internet for health care information and support.

Three companies which stood out in their Health 2.0 technology/capabilities are Sermo, PatientsLikeMe, and Wellsphere. All have good business models and doing well.

Here is a link to a summary of the conference from Matthew Holt

PS, vacationed in Rio few years ago. Couldn't believe I found this. I stayed 1/2 block from this beach. Think I saw my street.

Thanks for checking in. Forgive the 'advisory appointment' but thought it would be a good way to introduce you to the group when we get going. I'm addicted to golf so anytime after dark is good for me-never too late.
