Water molecules move (diffuse) along nerve fibers, and the diffusion anisotropy can be measured and displayed.<br /> <br /> Functional MRI method measures blood oxygen level and thus neuronal activity of the brain. By combining both techniques neural bundles involved in certain activities can be visualized.
