This training on Organic Labeling & Marketing will help the attendees understand the requirements of the USDA National Organic Program including the expectations in the agriculture sector. It will highlight the agricultural methods used to grow food and approved methods that integrate cultural, biological and mechanical practices.

It seems wherever you go organic labels, advertisements and marketing claims are becoming more and more prevalent. There is a pressure on food suppliers from retail to food manufacturers to provide "whole foods", "organic foods", to the consumer. However there are strict guidelines for industry that must be adhered to for compliance by the USDA including labeling and marketing.
This webinar will help to clarify some of the organic food myths as well as outline the USDA National Organic Program and its guidelines for consumers and regulations for industry. Kristina Lauzon, is a Certified Chef & Nutrition Manager. Her areas of expertise include: Clinical Nutrition, Diet Therapies, Nutrition Education, Food Technology & Food Manufacturing, HACCP, GMP's, Quality Assurance & Food Production. Ms. Lauzon has experience working in the Healthcare, Hospitality & Food Processing industries. Before becoming employed in Canada as a Nutrition Manager she worked as a Food Production Manager at a privately owned Food Processing Facility in Windsor, Ontario Canada. At present she is studying in preparation to write the Registered Diet Technicians Certification Exam.
