2010: A Big Year for Telemedicine
Over the past year, public interest in—and support of—telemedicine has grown dramatically. Telemedicine is now widely recognized as an integral part of modern quality healthcare. Technology has continued to improve, giving healthcare providers an array of increasingly-powerful tools to improve care and control costs. Patients are embracing telemedicine, using smart phones, internet applications, remote monitoring devices and social media to manage their own healthcare. The federal government invested heavily in telemedicine via the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and telehealth provisions are being incorporated into current healthcare reform proposals. Even private payers have jumped on board, as a growing number of insurers provide coverage for telemedicine services.
The ATA 2010 Exhibit Hall - Twice as large as last year
The ATA Annual Meeting Exposition is the world's largest trade show focusing exclusively on telemedicine. It is recognized around the industry as the primary forum for companies involved with telecommunications & technology solutions for healthcare.
Education & Professional Development
The meeting will feature roughly 350 peer-reviewed presentations, covering the full spectrum of telemedicine-related subject areas and specialties, within eight concurrent tracks.
Presentations will include oral concurrents, poster presentations, pre-meeting courses and general plenaries. ATA 2010 will also include special Executive Roundtables, featuring top executives in the industry discussing the future of telemedicine from a corporate perspective.
