SUMMARY:Design of Experiments (DOE) for Process Development and Valida
 tion at Singapore
DESCRIPTION:Overview:\nPrior to developing a process control plan as p
art of an overall risk management strategy, process development studie
s must be completed. The objective of these process development studie
s is to gain knowledge and understanding about how variation in proces
s parameters explains variation in the product quality characteristics
of the product.\nThe use of DOE methodology provides a means to ident
ify process parameters which impact product quality (critical process
parameters) and determine the functional relationship that links the p
rocess parameters to that critical quality attributes. Screening desig
ns, such as 2k factorial and D-optimal designs are used to determine c
ritical process parameters. \nAreas Covered in the Session:\nLearn ho
w to effectively use JMP to:\n\nidentify critical quality attributes (
CQAs) that will be used as responses in your designs\nutilize risk man
agement tools to identify and prioritize potential critical process pa
rameters\nidentify critical process parameters and develop a functiona
l relationship between those process parameters and your critical-to-q
uality attributes (CQAs) using both screening and response surface des
igns\nbe able to design and analyze screening designs including a fact
orial, fractional factorial, and D-optimal design\nunderstand the need
for adding center points to a design\nbe able to design and analyze r
esponse surface designs including central composite designs (CCDs), Bo
x-Behnken designs, and I-optimal designs\npresent results of DOE studi
es\nuse systematic understanding from DOE studies to update the contro
l plan that is part of the overall risk management plan\n\nWho Will Be
