Event Description

This training on healthcare compliance will teach the attendees best practices for conducting a self audit of excluded providers. Learn how to prepare and conduct an audit to ensure compliance with this important mandate of Medicare

Why Should You Attend:

The US Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General (OIG) has authority to exclude from participation in Medicare, Medicaid, and other Federal healthcare programs persons that have engaged in fraud or abuse. The OIG frequently updates its list of excluded parties and providers of healthcare services need to ensure they do not engage these excluded parties in their operations. Without a sufficient control environment to prevent it from happening, a provider runs the risk of employing an excluded party, purchasing goods or services from an excluded party, or render services to patients pursuant to orders from an excluded party. These situations may expose a provider to imposition of Federal Civil Monetary Penalties as well as assessment under the False Claims Act. All entities that bill Medicare, Medicaid and other Federal healthcare programs for services, as well as their Business Associates, should routinely audit their procedures to ensure they are able to bar excluded parties from their operations.

This webinar will help the attendees learn how to conduct a self audit of excluded providers.
