UC Davis 3rd Annual Health Informatics Conference "Innovations in Informatics"

The UC Davis Health Informatics Program is proud to present our 3rd Annual Health Informatics Conference with this year's theme being "Innovations in Informatics".

The conference will be held at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California on March 7, 2009, and registration is now open!

Join us, on Saturday March 7th, where you will:

See how innovative informatics platforms are being used in the U.S. Army for situations including chronic disease management and traumatic brain injury.

Discover how olfactory testing - breath analysis can be used as a diagnostic tool for the future.

See how Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is being used in support of national preparedness goals to prevent, protect against, respond to and recover from major disaster events.

Learn how informatics platforms are being used in emergency preparedness and regional response to allow for standardization of patient-tracking and medical records on a regional level.

Delve into the virtual reality of Second Life, where teaching, research collaboration, and public education thrives without the constraints of physical and geographic boundaries.

Hands-on Workshops will allow you to:

Participate in patient care scenarios utilizing patient simulators.

Perform simulated telemedicine consultations.

See the cognitive and affective neuroscience applications utilized for indexing human brain functions.

Participate in role play activities simulating a mass casualty event where computers and RFID will be utilized to track patient location, status, and up to the minute medical information!
