Description :
As a business owner, you are responsible for classifying the people providing services to you and your clients, and to remit employment taxes to the IRS on behalf of all employees. Classifying workers as independent contractors simplifies your payroll process and can save business owners money. During this session, learn how to classify workers appropriately, factors to consider when determining your business relationship, when to file IRS form SS-8, and forms/taxes associated with each type of worker.
Objective :
Misclassification of workers is a serious problem that can have severe consequences for business owners. Workers that feel they have been misclassified are able to file a tax form to notify the IRS of the discrepancy and you can be held liable for the taxes and related penalties! During this session, learn how to classify workers appropriately, factors to consider when determining your business relationship, when to file IRS form SS-8, and forms/taxes associated with each type of worker.
