SUMMARY:Webinar On Confidence / Reliability Calculations & Statistical
 ly Valid Sample Sizes
DESCRIPTION:All manufacturing and development companies perform testin
g and/or inspections that involve concluding whether or not a product
or lot is acceptable vs. design or QC specifications. Such test/inspec
tions may occur during design verification/validation or during incomi
ng or final QC.\nThe most informative method for analyzing the data th
at results from such activities is the calculation of the product's or
  lot's \"reliability\" at a chosen \"confidence\" level (where \"relia
bility\" means \"in-specification\"). Such a method produces informati
on that is more valuable than simply that the given product or lot \"p
assed\" (as is the case when \"AQL Attribute Sampling Plans\" are used
) or a % in-specification statement without any corresponding confiden
ce statement (as is the case with AQL Variables Sampling Plans and wit
 h Process Capability calculations).\nThe output of a \"Confidence/Reli
ability\" calculation is a definitive statement that the given product
or lot has a specific % in-specification, which conclusion we can sta
te with a specific level of confidence (e.g., 95% confidence of 99% re
liability, or 90% confident of 93% reliability\").\nAreas Covered in t
he Session :\nThe seminar begins with a discussion of relevant regulat
ory requirements, as motivation for calculating \"confidence/reliabili
ty\". Then, some vocabulary and basic concepts are discussed.\nNext, d
etailed descriptions are given for how to calculate confidence/reliabi
lity for data that is either pass/fail (i.e., \"attribute\" data), nor
mally-distributed measurement data, non-normally distributed measureme
nt data that can be transformed into normality, or non-normally distri
buted measurement data that cannot be transformed into normality.  Sp
readsheets are shown as examples of how to implement the methods descr
ibed in the seminar. A final discussion is provided on how to introduc
e the methods into a company.\nAll the above is captured in these bull
