SUMMARY:Webinar on The Risk Assessment Process
DESCRIPTION:Overview: A properly implemented program of risk assessmen
ts can assist in the prevention of injuries, fatalities, property dama
ge incidents and other losses. This not only helps to prevent human lo
ss and suffering, but also assists the effective management and financ
e of any business or organization. The process will also help to prote
ct the organizations commercial reputation.\nThis course is based on t
he \"Five Steps\" approach to Risk Assessment:\n\nIdentifying the haza
rds\nIdentifying who may be harmed\nEstimating the Risk and ensuring t
hat it is Low Enough\nExisting controls\nEvaluating Remaining Risk\nId
entifying Additional Control Measures\n\n\nRecording the findings\nRev
iew and Revising the Assessment\n\nA significant proportion of the Web
inar involves looking at a series of \"real life\" situation and ident
ifying what the associated hazards are. There will be consideration of
who may be harmed by these hazards and the focus will be wider than j
ust the immediate workforce (to include visitors, members of the publi
c, contractors, etc). After analysis of the hazards, there will be a t
utor led discussion on the control measures that could be employed to
either avoid (preferably) or control the hazards. In some cases, diffe
rent solutions will be proposed. This helps to demonstrate that the pr
ocess is not \"prescriptive\", but that there may well be more than on
e approach that is effective and to highlight the need for the Control
Measures to be designed to the circumstances that exist within your C
ompany. Consideration will be given to the \"hierarchy of control\", s
howing the importance of electing the most appropriate and effective s
olution.Record keeping and the need to keep the risk assessments up to
date (reviewing and revising) will be discussed. Why should you atte
nd: Therisk assessment process is an important part in protecting you
r workers and your business, as well as complying with the law. The pr
ocess helps you to focus on the risks that really matter in your busin
ess - the ones with the potential to cause harm. In many cases, simple
and straightforward measures can be used to control risks. For many b
usinesses this may mean simple, cheap and effective measures to ensure
that their most valuable asset (the workforce) is protected.Delegates
should attend this Webinar if they wish to understand the risk assess
ment process and wish to use this process to manage the risks associat
ed with the operation of their business. This webinar aims to guide you
to the information you need to help you identify the hazards associat
ed with the operation of your business and to identify and implement t
he appropriate control measures required to protect people (your own w
orkers and other people that may be affected by your undertaking).\nPr
