As reported in Washington ... Virginia Tech University, IBM and Arlington County have created a partnership to support the school’s massive research center being built in Ballston, Virginia.

Virginia Tech and IBM signed an agreement to establish an informatics lab at Virginia Tech called the Center for Community Security and Resilience, and research will be conducted for it in Arlington.

Virginia Tech recently broke ground on the center at 800/900 N. Glebe Road in Ballston. Virginia Tech already has a research institute in Ballston, which will start housing research work for the center before the new 145,000 square-foot building delivers around the end of 2010...

...The center will conduct policy, social and systems research to address issues related to developing an infrastructure that can boost security in communities, locally and nationally...Technologies used will include data integration, cloud computing, virtualization.
