Over $25 million in REC support contracts have been recently awarded to advance the adoption of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) in the U.S..  The RECs are a key component of the ONC (Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology) approach to speed the adoption of electronic health records by primary care practitioners.
