Workshop - "Cashing in on Virtual Worlds: Business models for virtual worlds in healthcare " on August 19

For those in the San Francisco Bay area, you are invited to participate in a workshop on August 19 at Stanford University, where we will talk with executives from VenueGen, IMVU, and other innovators about how they are formulating products and business models that maximize return on investment and reap the commercial potential of virtual worlds.

After a lively mix of in-person and virtual presentations, we will conduct a guided brainstorm on applications in healthcare. We will invite developers and healthcare practitioners to talk about their pilot programs that show promise for business, and entrepreneurs to present their “elevator pitches,” and receive feedback from the group.

Areas of interest include telemedicine, home care, treatment compliance, fitness, virtual hospitals, virtual patients, professional training, and education.

There will be no online component this time. We hope to follow this in about 6 months with a wholly online workshop. We will be surveying folks on topics of interest within the scope of Virtual Medical Environments.
