... I envision that wireless radios will play big roles in many aspects as consumers pursue healthier options. At home, wireless sensors collect people’s pulse rate, heart beats, blood pressure, and weight. At the gym or on a home treadmill, wireless sensors can track calories burned, respiratory signs, muscle strength, and cardio range. For senior citizens, sensors pick up activity patterns, GPS tracks their movements, digital drug cabinets reminds them of medications to take, and the home TV offers care tips and the latest healthy recipes. This list of potential applications could go on, but I think you get the idea.

There is an underlying challenge that accompanies this vision. As the number of radios goes up, the different types of radios will also expand, which prompts the question, “Which radio technology will serve the digital health space?”...
