As reported in the New York Daily News ... at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., ... soldiers and veterans are using a high-tech therapy called Virtual Iraq for post-traumatic stress disorder.

The idea is sometimes you have to face your fears before you can conquer them.

"We actually do want to create some stress," said Army Col. Michael Roy, a medical internist and director of military internal medicine who oversees Virtual Iraq at Walter Reed. "You may get worse before you get better," he said. "That's certainly the Achilles heel to all this."
