Banned Spammer ... MedTech-IQ User guide

Colleagues,

Last night we experienced a spam attack from a member who had just joined MedTech-IQ, and immediately began a "search for true partnership" by emailing many of you. Though we have no problem with true companionship in general, that is not the purpose of this network. We have banned the spamming member.

MedTech-IQ is a Web 2.0 platform for academic "Pioneers", small business "Colonizers", established industry "Consolidators", and "Intermediaries" (investors, strategic partners, policy-makers) to leverage the 3C's of "Content, Community & Collaboration" to discover real-time medical technology information, create online communities, uncover new collaborations, and build "Global Brands" that accelerate the translation of medical innovation from "Lab to Market".

MedTech-IQ can be leveraged in a number of legitimate ways:

1. Member Profiles: Update your profile page. Describe your expertise/interests, customize the look and feel, add 3rd party applications (Go to My Settings>My Page>My Apps), post photos & videos, and adjust privacy settings to your liking. Once your comfortable with your profile, use the search function to review the database of over 800 international Members for people you know, and professionals for potential collaboration with similar interests & backgrounds.

2.“Tabs”: These are located at the top of the MedTech-IQ homepage, and provide shortcuts to our searchable "Content, Community and Collaboration" resources, i.e.,:

Content: MedTech-IQ Blogs, VideoLibrary, "Brain" and Photos

Community: MedTech-IQ Member Profiles and Focus Groups ... Telemedicine, Informatics, mHealth, TBI, Biodefense, Military Medicine, Systems Engineering, Systems Biology, International Health, Imaging, Robotics, Medical Simulation, Regenerative Medicine and CEOs, Angels & VCs

Collaboration:MedTech-IQ Events and Web Tools ... Internet Chat, Answers.Com polling, Box.Net document sharing, doXtop online publishing, Marketplace job & technology searches and TokBox Video Chat.
