Blogging from 30,000 feet ... Enroute to ATA Mid-Year, Palm Springs, California

This is my first in-flight email to the MedTech-IQ communuty, and I like it! I am on a Delta Airlines flight, currently passing Las Vegas on our right, on the way to California. The new in-flight Internet Service, "GoGo", seems to work well, and is free during this introductory period. Later it will be $9.95 per flight, or $12.95 for unlimited 24 hour access.
The ATA (American Telemedicine Association) Mid-Year meeting will feature talks on the changing telemedicine and health information technology environment, especially in the United States. I will share the highlights with you as they emerge. I will be introducing Dr. Bryan Vartabedian, MD, and his keynote talk "Twittwr MD: Unleashing the Power of Social Media to Build Your Brand Online and Beyond".
For those still on the U.S. East Coast, remember, MedTech-IQ members Neal Nueberger and Reginald Humphries are organizing an e-Health Technology Show and Congressional seminar at the Senate Office Building this Thursday, 24 September 2009.
Beyond these meetings, MedTech-IQ members have a very busy fall, with the CIMIT Innovation Congress and Connected Health meetings approaching rapidly in Boston, the World Congress for Military Medicine in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia, the Henry Jackson Foundation "Country United" Gala and AMSUS in November. This will really expand what can be accomplished during a flight.
With this capability MD's can provide consultation while enroute to their destination.
I wonder if they will have to be licensed in all of the states that they fly over?

CC, that is just not nice blogging us on your way to Palm Springs!! I'm jealous!! Have a good, productive time! I am looking forward to attending the e-Health Show on Thursday. Thanks again for mentioning the "Country United" Symposium and Gala!
