The Cutting Edge of Medical Technology Content, Community & Collaboration

A message to all members of MedTechIQ

Colleagues,

- From time to time, I am going to take the liberty to send out notes you may find useful.

- Rich Friedrich, Director, Open Innovation Office, HP Labs has just joined us. Rich is responsible for nurturing academic research relationships for Hewlett Packard. I visited with Rich in Palo Alto last week, great individual. Please welcome him aboard.

- Tim Gerritty at Cal State, San Bernadino, is funding medical technology projects that have dual use (military/civilian) utility. His program closes 15 September 2008. If you are interested, please send him a note.

- Bertalan Mesko has absolutely one of the best Web 2.0 based medical blogs online. Send him a note encouragement and check his site at ScienceRoll.

- Harlan Hugh & Shelley Hayduck are making rapid progress at The Personal Brain Technologies, Inc., particularly with the new releases of Personal Brain. Check out the latest version at http://www.thebrain.com.. We will probably do a webinar of the MedTechIQ network sponsored by the Brain in October.

- I am anticipating receiving corporate inquiries for new technologies sourced thru the MedTechIQ network. Network member, Michael Fitzgerald is developing this initiative. Drop him a note if you are interested in this development. More to come soon.

- Also, please welcome Dr Maurice Mars (Durban, South Africa) and Jim Katzenstein (Mission Viejo, California). They along with Yunkup Kwankum (Dir, eHealth, WHO), Basil Olisa (Silver Spring, Maryland) and Dr Stephen Vaughan (Petersburg, Va) are all deeply committed to translating new medical technology in Africa healthcare systems. Please drop them a note if you share their interest.

- That's it for now. ENJOY!
