Hospitals outsource teleradiology services to India

Colleagues,

FYI. See article from Washington Post transmitted to MedTechIQ "Imaging" Group.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hospitals around the world, including some in the U.S., are outsourcing teleradiology services to Bangalore, India, because the city offers lower costs and convenience for institutions facing a shortage of radiologists. Some experts said medical services that do not need direct interaction with patients could eventually be outsourced. Others, however, are concerned that the practice may lead to misdiagnosis and pose problems related to ethics and legal liability.
