Colleagues,
As reported in GenomeWeb News ... Under a grant program focused on early-stage ideas and technologies, the National Institutes of Health will give up to $275,000 over a two-year period to researchers seeking funding for potentially risky but rewarding studies. These grants are specifically meant to encourage new research projects that are in the beginning or discovery phases of development.
The
Exploratory/Developmental Grant Program will fund research through the National Human Genome Research Institute and other institutes that "may involve considerable risk but may lead to a breakthrough in a particular area, or to the development of novel techniques, agents, methodologies, models, or applications that could have a major impact on a field of biomedical, behavioral, or clinical research".
