Informatics: HITECH Act Compliance - Part 1 of 2
In 2009, the HITECH Act was passed as part of the ARRA bill. HITECH requires that "covered entities" and "business associates" abide by additional requirements regarding the use, security, and destruction of personal health information (PHI).
