If the funds of the stimulous package that went fixing roads that did not need any repair, were allocated to expanded regenerative medicine funding, the US would have half a chance of taking a leadership position in this "industry of the future". As it stands now China has the focus, the determination, the intellectual skill, and capital to eventually dominate this field. While we are dithering around with the Pope (Bush had to consult him to ensure the Catholic base of voters in 2004) about embryonic stem cell morals, the Chinese were slowly gaining ground and now are moving rapidly ahead....
