In preparation for the first Guam telemedicine conference, those who have expertise in the field discussed how this new technology can bridge the geographic barrier that separates Guam from off island doctors. All that's needed is an internet connection and some computer equipment. Dr. Nathaniel Berg told pnc news there are 14 successful telemedicine consultations to date with the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. However, Guam Healthcare and Hospital Development Foundation President Peter Sgro says he wants physicians to know how easy it is to use. Sgro also says there are grants to fund the cost of the equipment through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
