Banerjee is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Association for Computing Machinery and the Institute of Electrical the Electronics Engineers and a recipient of the 1996 American Society for Engineering Education Terman Award and the 1987 National Science Foundation Presidential Young Investigator Award.<br />
