MedTech-IQ Community Bulletin: Intelligent Search Tool (IST) ... Seeking Comment & Collaboration

Loyal MedTech-IQ member, Arleen Zank, President of the Coronado Group, Ltd. is building an intelligent search tool (IST) that supports enhanced investigative search and retrieval for radiologists, clinicians and medical researchers. The first release of the IST is focused on answering clinical questions in the diagnostic imaging domain.
Arleen is interested in what You ... the MedTechIQ community think about this next generation search capability. As a result, she has agreed to release a White Paper, "Intelligent Search for Answering Clinical Questions ... Search The Way You Think", describing the IST capabilities to the MedTech-IQ network. She seeks your comments, your feedback, and your potential collaboration in advancing its development.
This effort is an outgrowth of her company's stellar efforts in other, non-medical, domains. The Coronado Group is a leading innovator in developing sophisticated Patent and Intellectual Property search engines for the federal market. Now, they are turning their attention towards healthcare. A perfect example of how successful approaches in one domain, when applied to an adjacent "vertical", can leapfrog existing technology.
The Coronado IST search engine is able to search and retrieve documents based on concepts and ideas. A sophisticated concept space defines all concepts in a document and relationships between documents embodying the same concept. Users can pose a single query that addresses a complex question and the IST search engine finds, ranks and returns the documents that are conceptually and semantically closest to the search source.
