U.S. AHRQ (Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality) Announces $12 million CER (Comparative Effectiveness Research) Request For Applications ... Orthopedic Devices, Drugs, and Procedures

AHRQ invites applications to develop a prospective clinical registry of orthopedic devices, drugs, and procedures. The goal of this registry initiative is to support the development of a sustainable data infrastructure and to conduct rigorous clinical and scientific research including comparative effectiveness and safety research. The registry will be a model and basis for other national device and procedure registries and will actively disseminate study results into clinical practice.

One award will be made for the development of the prospective clinical registry of orthopedic devices, drugs, and procedures.

AHRQ intends to commit up to $3,000,000 total costs in Fiscal Year 2010 to fund one application. AHRQ plans to award a total amount of up to $12,000,000 (total costs) over four years.
