Interesting development in California ... Cisco Systems Inc. is contributing $10 million in equipment, services and support for a telemedicine pilot program in California, company officials announced Friday.

The San Jose-based company (NASDAQ:CSCO) is partnering with Molina Healthcare, two community health centers in San Diego and the state of California to provide health and wellness services to underserved communities throughout the state.

More than 15 sites will be equipped to provide primary and specialty services using Cisco technology that offers video, audio and medical information to create a patient care experience similar to one done in person. A list of sites was not released, but they are expected to be up and running within six months...
