A Little Bit About the VetAdvisor® Support Program

The VetAdvisor® Support Program was designed to augment and support already existing VA services. Through this program, veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi freedom can receive free, over-the-phone screenings for potential mental health concerns that are related to deployment. If the veteran screens positive for any of the concerns, they are refered back to the VA for a follow-up.

VetAdvisor® also has a second part which allows veterans to talk to behavioral health care clinicians about issues that are related to reintegration into civilian life such as relationship, anger managment and employment issues. These sessions can take place over the phone or via a 3-D virtual environment.

Currently, the VetAdvisor® Support Program is only being offered in the Great Lakes area, but it is definitely our hope that the program will expand to other areas of the country.
