HIMSS Analytics announced its findings which portray a far more optimistic picture regarding EMR implementation, than an analysis reported in the 29Mar09 edition of the New England Journal of Medicine, which, in marked contra-distinction, concluded that a nation-wide deployment of hospital based electronic records was still in a rudimentary stage. Both studies make it clear, however, that the transition to digital records is an issue that can't be ignored.
