Colleagues,
On Tuesday, 12 January 2010 I transmitted to you the 1st of a 4 part series of postings by
Dr Leigh Jerome, Ph.D., Principal Investigator of the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) funded study on "Next Generation Social Networks". Here is a
link to that posting.
The study focuses on how social networking platforms and tools can accelerate innovation by creating knowledge spillovers and new global research and development value chains that transcend time and distance. Traditionally, innovation has emerged from clusters of co-located experts. Globalization is changing both the concept of proximity and the scope of innovation.
You now have an opportunity to contribute to the growing body of knowledge that is devoted to understanding the emerging field of social network science. Below please find instructions for taking the entry survey that will form a baseline on how we use the MedTech-IQ network to share knowledge, form online communities and nurture collaboration.
ENJOY!
