Use of Social Networking/Web 2.0 in Government (healthcare related) and Hospitals

Does anyone know of any governmental initiatives relative to the combination of healthcare and social networking? If so, would you be able to provide contacts? I am also interested in learning about the use of social networking as it relates to hospitals - again contact information would be appreciated.

Thanks, in advance, for your willingness to help.

Conrad,

Thank you.

There are a number of NFPs focused on communicable disease (STD) prevention that use social networking--chat sites and such--in a variety of ways. There is also a program being run in Seattle that works with street youth which has found that while under-resourced populations have limited access to the 'net, these populations, especially youth and minority demographics, have highly evolved cel-phone usage.
I can put you in touch with some of these groups, if you would like.
Lawrence,

Thank you for replying. I would appreciate putting me in touch with these groups. Kindly send appropriate contact information. Do you mind if I reference your name?

Warm regards,
Bari
We have at least one protocol that will employ social networking beginning in June 2010. Additionally our Independent Duty Corpsman Physician Assistant program makes heavy use of social networking. We would be happy to discuss.
