It was 20 years ago today....

Yes indeed. I remember it well. 22 November 1989 (10:15 AM). My first of six Congressional testimonies. Waxing poetic on the sorry state of Federal preparedness and response to disasters (this was just after both the catastrophic earthquakes in Armenia and San Francisco (Loma Prieta or "World Series" quake). Good Example of public-private-university partnership to tackle major public health crisis

Here is the original article that the editorial from Military Medicine referenced.



This is one of the best examples I've seen of a public-private-foundation-university partnership to tackle a major public health problem. Actually, a potential global crisis -- pandemic influenza. The collaborators of this study were from Google.org, Centers for Disease Control, Google.com and Stanford.
