MedTech-IQ Member, COL Keith Salzman, MD, Chief of Informatics, Western Regional Medical Command/Madigan Army Medical Center, DOD and Theresa Hancock Veterans and Consumers Health Informatics Office, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Office of Health Information (OHI), Chief Health Informatics Office (CHIO) , will be jointly presenting a live audioconference on "Personal Health IT in Government ... How the Defense Department's Personal Health Record Pilot is Helping Pave the Way for Public Sector Health Care Interoperability".
The audioconference will be conducted Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 8:00 am Pacific / 9:00 am Mountain / 10:00 am Central / 11:00 am Eastern.
During the audioconference you will get an update on new technology that links patients and beneficiaries to PHR (Personal Health Record) databases. The Moderator will be Paul McCloskey, Editor in Chief, Government Health IT.
The audioconference will also cover:
- Key challenges of providing public access to corporate health data resources, including privacy and customer relationship management
- Best practices for pursuing government-wide health information access and integration
- Insights into the business case and goals of the MiCare program
